| As is only natural, the innovative ideas developed at the European Media Laboratory GmbH have led to the establishment of spin-off companies by employees of EML. This is a highly gratifying effect, and our company does all it can to support such ventures.
So far, three such spin-off companies have established themselves successfully:
- tesa scribos, founded in 2001 as a subsidiary of tesa AG. The company implements the results of a research project at the European Media Laboratory GmbH, using high-density holograms on polymer foils to ensure counterfeit protection and product identification.

- Leiner & Wolff GmbH started up in 2003 as an offshoot company of the European Media Laboratory. It specializes in software development for state administrations, local governments, and companies in the sectors disaster management, flood information, deployment organization, and deployment planning.
